After hours of contemplation and many, many conversations between husband and wife, we decided that in the next 4-5 years we would be ready to begin looking for our next home. Our “Forever Home.” That 4-5 years turned into 1 solitary month when a house we coveted on the lake became available and eventually fell into our price range. We contacted Carol to represent us and through her encouragement, we were able to fairly quickly negotiate the purchase of our new home. Great news! However, that also meant that we needed to get our home on the market. Our home that was in the early stages of a kitchen remodel. We kicked it into high-gear and finished the kitchen in record time and, with Carol’s help, identified other key areas we needed to fix and/or improve to get our home sell-ready. Within 11 days of putting our home on the market, Carol helped us negotiate the sale of our old home.
While the negotiations for both homes went fairly smooth, dealing with our home lender was an entirely different situation. Though we had nearly two months to prepare, our lender could not seem to get things straight. Documents we sent them went missing. They did not have the right documents. On and on they went. The last two weeks leading up to the purchase of our new home and sale of our old home (they shared a closing date) was where Carol really shined. Due to our inept home lender, Carol had to either provide them documentation from the sale of our home, information from the title company (who were on a retreat at the time), or get information from us to provide to them usually in a time span of hours. In the end, all of the hard work paid off and we were in our new home and we couldn’t be happier. Thanks Carol!
